Paul Pogba had raised eyebrows prior to his red card by conceding that he wishes key players of City were injured, a situation akin to what his side faced this season.

However, Kevin de Bruyne has provided a classy response recently.

Jose Mourinho had a rough start this year, albeit in terms of injuries. Nevertheless, most of their key players including Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo have marked their return from severe knee injuries, and Pogba too recovered as he was sidelined following a hamstring injury.

Despite the issues, the team had coped up well as they now sit second on the table.

Meanwhile, Pep’s side is showcasing overwhelming performances as they still remain unbeaten in Premier League. Furthermore, they lead over the Red Devils by eight points.

Concerning the form the Citizens are portraying along with the advancements they are making, Pogba told BBC’s Football Focus:

“I hope – and it’s bad to say things like this – but I hope they will get some very important players injured like what happened with us. People don’t see this, don’t speak about this, but every time we have important players that get injured when there is important games.”

“So if that starts happening with them as well maybe we’ll get a little difference. A little touch that makes them weaker.”, he further added.

De Bruyne, being a member of ‘some very important players’, responded recently.

The Belgian proclaimed, “I don’t believe in that shit. I’m a very straightforward guy. If someone believes it is karma then OK, everyone has their right to their opinion. I don’t want anyone to get injured. It’s a competition, you want to play against the best teams and the best players,”

The celebrated talisman, who performs sensationally on the pitch, seems to be equally able with his words too, as he seized attention by conceding that in a competition, one would want to play against the best players.
