Who did England draw in the (unbelievably confusing) UEFA Nations League

The draw for the UEFA Nations League took place in Lausanne, Switzerland, today.

Now it would be easier to explain how to split the atom using just your microwave and a knife and fork than talk you through the UEFA Nations League format.

But luckily UEFA have made a two minute video which will to talk you through the who and what and where of the tournament.

So now we’re all on the same page, or just pretending we’re not confused, let’s get down to the juicy part.

    The draw.

England were in Pot 2 of League A, alongside Switzerland, France and Italy.

Germany, Portugal, Belgium and Spain were in Pot 1, with Poland, Iceland, Croatia and the Netherlands in Pot 3.

Teams were split into four groups of three, with the group winners contesting the UEFA Nations League Finals in June 2019.

So who did England draw? Drum roll please?

Gareth Southgate’s men will be in Group A4, along with Croatia and Spain.

    Nice and easy then.

It's Spain who join the #ThreeLions and Croatia in group A4 of the #NationsLeague.

Northern Ireland were drawn in Group B3 with Austria and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Scotland will compete alongside Israel and Albania in Group C1 while Martin O’Neill’s Republic of Ireland will play Wales and Denmark in Group B4.

Sorted. We’re off for a lie down.
